MediCorp Regional Health Care Advisory CouncilMediCorp Health System's Regional Health Care Advisory Council is a vital connection between the community and the MediCorp Health System Board of Trustees. The Health Care Advisory Council is comprised of local citizens with varying backgrounds and experiences who represent the MediCorp service area including the City of Fredericksburg and Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania, Stafford and Westmoreland Counties. Members examine health care concerns such as access, availability and cost, paying particular attention to the needs of the underinsured and the underserved. The Health Care Advisory Council operates by reviewing health care concerns expressed by community members, civic organizations, business people, and others. The group then identifies and prioritizes our region's critical health care and reports these to the MediCorp Board of Trustees. Programs recommended and implemented within our community include: - Medication Access Program, helping uninsured and low-income people obtain free prescription drugs from pharmaceutical companies.
- No Crash Team, a program specifically targeted at teens and their parents to prevent motor vehicle accidents and injuries among teens.
